Melodee Schroeder

1st Grade Teacher

Hello, My name is Melodee Schroeder. I attended Ricks College where I earned my Associates degree in Fashion Merchandising. After graduating from Ricks College , I move to Ogden, Utah and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Marketing at Weber State University. For 17 years, I ran a preschool out of my home called “The Little Preschool on the Corner”. During my time as a preschool teacher I fell in love with teaching and learning. After my years of running my preschool I became a substitute teacher at Highmark Charter School. I really loved being able to sub in all grades from Kindergarten to 9th grade. I got to know nearly all of the students in the school and experienced many teaching styles. I really enjoyed being part of the Highmark community and decided to become a certified teacher. I worked for one year as an aide in the junior high and gained some invaluable experience. After working in the junior high, I am so excited to be back with the younger children and feel at home in the 1st grade.
I grew up on a farm in Preston, Idaho. As the youngest of eight children, I learned how to work hard and work as a team. I am the mother of four children, and an adorable dog named Lottee. I loved being at home with my children while I ran my preschool. Taking photos of my kids helped me develop a love for photography. I love to spend time with my family, play card games, read, hike and watch movies (don’t forget the popcorn!)
