Dr. Richard J. Bigler is a native of Mantua, Utah and attended Box Elder High School. He attended Brigham Young University on a music scholarship where he graduated cum laude in Microbiology. While getting his undergraduate degree at BYU he took two years off to learn Mandarin Chinese and serve a church mission to Taipei, Taiwan. He did his graduate work at the Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO) in Fullerton, California where he graduated with a B.S. summa cum laude in Visual Science and received his Doctor of Optometry degree. While at SCCO, he became a member of the American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association, and the Beta Sigma Kappa honors fraternity and served on the student council as Interprofessional Liaison.
Dr. Richard Bigler moved his family to South Weber in 2007 where they still happily reside. He recently fulfilled a life-long dream to join the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. He is married to Amy Wilson of Brigham City and they are the busy parents of four boys. When he is not working or singing, he likes to hike, bike, play sports, bake, cook, and read. He especially enjoys troubleshooting and fixing things.
