We’re excited to announce that Spring CHIRP for students in grades 3–6 begins on January 27th! This fun, high-energy choir experience is a wonderful opportunity for students to grow musically, build confidence, and perform together as a team.
Practices will be held Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:45–8:15 a.m. in Mrs. Miehlke’s classroom. To participate, families must review the CHIRP Handbook, confirm they have read it, sign up for the Remind app, and purchase a CHIRP t-shirt ($12). Remind is our only form of parent communication, so enrollment is required.
Students will have two exciting performance opportunities this spring:

Toasty Tuesday- peanut butter, jelly, boxed mixes, crackers, dry mixes, etc.
Warm Hearts Wednesday- canned soup, veggies, beans, rice sides, canned meats, comfort foods, etc.
Thankful Thursday- boxed stuffing, gravy mixes, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, etc.
Feel Good Friday- snacks, cookies, granola, fruit snacks, pop tarts, etc.
Bonus- pet supplies, food, and treats

During specials the weeks of May 5th and May 12th we will celebrate all of our elementary student’s many talents (grades 1-6)! It is for students only (no parents) so that the students don’t feel nervous or afraid. It is a great way for them to practice performing in front of a group. Video submissions work too! It can be anything from a song, a piece of artwork, an instrument, lip sync, juggling, dance, etc. The only thing we can’t do is any form of talent that could result in injury (i.e. tumbling) unless they do it at home and send in a video. Doing a talent with a friend/group works too! If you’re student would like to participate, please feel out this form by no later than Friday, May 2nd. Filling out this form allows your student to participate and is also confirming that the talent your child will perform is school appropriate. If they do not submit a form, they will not be able to perform. Please be sure your student is ready to perform (or video has been emailed to vmiehlke@highmarkhawks.com) by May 5th .
