Junior High Lagoon Day

Our Junior High Lagoon day will be Thursday, May 22nd. Students will be bussed from Highmark to Lagoon. There will be no Junior High teachers at school that day, so if you do not want your student to go, please keep them home. Lagoon tickets are not provided by Highmark. You can buy a discounted day pass at lagoonpark.com with the code SCHOOLS25. Lunch will not be provided, so your student may either bring a lunch, or money to purchase lunch at the park. Busses will leave the school at 9:00am and return to Highmark between 4:30- 5:00. You must sign this permission slip for your student to go and ride the bus.

Highmark's Got Talent

Elementary’s Highmark's Got Talent is just around the corner! The event will take place next week and the week after, and online submissions are due Monday. This is a great opportunity for students to showcase the talents they’ve been working on at home. Talent submissions can be anything, not just singing and dancing! Here are a few fun ideas:

 

  • Playing a musical instrument
  • Comedy skits
  • Magic tricks
  • Poetry or storytelling
  • Martial arts or gymnastics
  • Art demonstrations
  • And much more!

 

The more participants, the better the show will be, so we encourage all students to get involved. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me at vmiehlke@highmarkhawks.com.

Lost and Found

Please have your student check the lost and found before the end of the school year. There are lots of coats, lunch boxes, and water bottles. Everything that is left at the end of the year will be donated.

Highmark's Got Talent

During specials the weeks of May 5th and May 12th we will celebrate all of our elementary student’s many talents (grades 1-6)! It is for students only (no parents) so that the students don’t feel nervous or afraid. It is a great way for them to practice performing in front of a group. Video submissions work too! It can be anything from a song, a piece of artwork, an instrument, lip sync, juggling, dance, etc. The only thing we can’t do is any form of talent that could result in injury (i.e. tumbling) unless they do it at home and send in a video. Doing a talent with a friend/group works too! If you’re student would like to participate, please feel out this form by no later than Friday, May 2nd. Filling out this form allows your student to participate and is also confirming that the talent your child will perform is school appropriate. If they do not submit a form, they will not be able to perform. Please be sure your student is ready to perform (or video has been emailed to vmiehlke@highmarkhawks.com) by May 5th .

In Memory of Levi Lewis

We will have the "Hypno Hick" here for an exciting night of fun for the whole family.

All proceeds will go to families fighting leukemia in honor of our own Levi.

Tickets will be sold online. If seating is still available, some tickets may be sold at the door.

It will be held Thursday, April 10th, from 6- 7:30pm in the Highmark gym $5.00 per ticket

Volunteer Opportunity

We are helping our 9th graders prepare for the "real world". They have been learning about how to make a resume and interviewing skills. We will be doing "mock" interviews and are looking for volunteers for March 26th. 

You will be given a list of questions to ask and will provide written feedback to the student on their interview.  

We need about 20 volunteers, you do not need to be a 9th-grade parent to volunteer.
