Thank you for all that you do! We know that the success of the school runs on all those involved, and we know that you are always so busy and take care of so much. Thank you for your love and caring towards the children, and all of us.

My son came home yesterday and told me all about the school then said ” I feel really happy today, don’t know why” I told him it was because he was going to a school where people cared about it and it shows. Asked him to please not waste the chance to learn to love school and he promised he would try, so big thank you to all the staff and teachers who made such a great first impression on a young boy who just doesn’t give a care…usually!!

Our daughter had a wonderful experience in Mrs. Ronda Jones’ 6th grade class. Mrs. Jones relates so well to this age group. Her firm expectations are clear yet there is room for a little classroom fun, which makes learning so much more enjoyable! Mrs. Jones incorporated many “real world” experiences into the curriculum. These experiences enhance their education and ready them for future responsibilities, inside the classroom and workplace. Students gained experience in using technology, public speaking, earning classroom money, creating and using a budget, creating and running a business, and performing classroom jobs. These activities augmented the standard curriculum. Mrs. Jones proved to be an effective and caring teacher. Her students were (are) lucky to have her!

Mrs. Jones is an AMAZING teacher! When my daughter started her 6th grade year she was behind a whole grade level in math and reading. My daughter was never excited about going to school and especially not excited about doing homework. She hated to read because she didn’t like asking questions when she didn’t understand the words. Mrs. Jones is ESL certified and got my daughter back on track and on grade level. She instilled in my daughter a love for reading and she actually started to love to go to school again. She taught my daughter about integrity and that there is always a way. My daughter stopped saying “I can’t” because of Mrs. Jones. My daughter and other students in her class by the end of the year walked with their heads held up high with confidence, knowing they were reading for Junior high because of Mrs. Jones. We will follow her anywhere. We have 2 more daughters and we cant wait for her to be their teacher as well. I recommend her to everyone !!! She is the BEST!

If anyone is considering HighMark for their kids…….you have come to the right place! There is no other school like it, no better teachers anywhere else, no where else you could go can match or exceed what you will find at HighMark. The bar is set higher here than anywhere else!!!!After years of struggling in school, we finally have a teacher that changed everything…..Mrs Jones. Mrs Jones understands each student on their own level; some may be the shy type, some the class clown, some the avid reader, others hated to read. Mrs Jones encourages the students to be themselves, yet spread their wings and try new things. My student had a hard time focusing during class. She tried many techniques to help him focus and eventually found something that worked for him. I wasn’t exactly comfortable with my child using a partition when no one else was but then when he told me he loved it and how much it helped I couldn’t argue with this method. She also understood my child is a “Forgetful Fred.” On a weekly basis I would be in the classroom making sure things were turned in and nothing was missing. Mrs Jones understood the expectations that I hold for my son… missing work is unacceptable. She did not hold every student to this standard, as each parent feels differently and each child has their own habits; but she did understand and respect how I felt about it. Often times I would get to school just as the bell was ringing on Fridays and my student would be hard at work to finish up the last of his assignments for the week. She never pressured him to finish them, she just posted on the assignments board the missing list and held him responsible to check it. As long as he was working on it she would allow him to stay after for a few minutes to turn in the missing/often forgotten assignment. Each student also had the opportunity to create a business, run their business, have a classroom job (with salary), balance check books and earn money for the school. In 6th grade the kids were encouraged to be creative and think of things to make & sell in the school store. All the money the kids earned from the school store went into an account and at the end of the year the 6th grade was very proud to present Principal Fuller with a check for $400 to buy a snow blower for next year. Plus they had enough left over to start off next year with money already in the bank. When I asked my student how he felt about Mrs Jones he said “Awesome.” When I asked him to elaborate a little he said, “She is strict but the more strict she was the better our class ran and the more fun we had.” I expressed how I thought that sounded crazy and he told me, “I know, it’s a mysterious thing, but it’s true! She meant business as a teacher, but we always had fun and laughed a lot too.” I have to admit I spent a lot of time in her classroom and had the pleasure of teaching her students the Junior Achievement Lessons. Every time I went into her classroom, the kids were very respectful, had a ton of fun, were amazing listeners, fantastic students, and wonderful people to be around. The students showed me respect at all times, I could tell that Mrs Jones would not allow them to behave in any other way, but she never had to correct them. I’m sure this is what my son meant by strict, but they always had a great time. I am so proud of my son for the huge turn around that he has had this year. I have seen his entire attitude change, his study habits changed, his grades went from D-F’s to mostly A-B’s. He struggled at our old school a lot. Teachers, Principals, Counselors, etc. were not helpful to him at all. They always used the excuse “There are too many kids in this class to worry about your student.” At HighMark, there are only approx 25 students per class, the Principals favorite place to be is in the cafeteria hanging out with the kids or on the soccer field playing with them. The school Counselor, Secretaries, Principal, and Teachers know most kids by name. The community in the school is small enough that it has a real Family Feel. HighMark is very luck to have found such wonderful teachers. This year the was HighMark’s first year and it is an honor to have Ronda Jones as part of that. I can’t wait for my younger student to have Mrs Jones too!
